Abstract EN
WheatGrainImages.zip
The dataset contains a total of 288 samples of three wheat varieties: Canadian, Kama, and Rosa, containing 108, 72, and 108 kernels, respectively. The images were obtained in the form of X-ray photograms at the scale of 5:1. The photograms were scanned by way of an Epson Perfection V700 table photo-scanner that was equipped with a transparency adapter, at 600 dpi resolution and 8 bit gray scale levels. In order to carry out accurate grain traits measurements, the specialized image processing package Grains was employed for measuring the particular characteristics of any selected grain.
WheatGrainFeatures.xlsx
The file WheatGrainFeatures.xlsx contains the following measurements: kernel area, kernel perimeter, compactness, asymmetry coefficient, kernel length, kernel width, length of kernel groove, germ area and germ length. The unit of measurement is millimetres.
