W pracy wyprowadzono równania różniczkowe cząstkowe ruchu autoparametrycznej struktury belkowej o kształcie litery „L" uwzględniając zginanie w dwóch prostopadłych płaszczyznach oraz skręcanie każdej z belek. Równania cząstkowe zredukowano do równ różniczkowych zwyczajnych biorąc pod uwagę czwartą, (przestrzenną - out of plane) postać drgań własnych układu. Ponadto, wyznaczono częstości i postacie drgań własnych struktury "L" wykorzystując opracowany model MES uwzględniający liczbę i ułożenie warstw w kompozytowej strukturze belek. W pierwszej kolejności zastosowano sterowanie, oddzielnie do belki poziomej z pionowym wymuszeniem punktu zamocowania w otoczeniu rezonansu podstawowego oraz belki pionowej, w otoczeniu głównego rezonansu parametrycznego. Badania analityczne przeprowadzono za pomocą metody wielu skal czasowych biorąc pod uwagę przybliżenie pierwszego rzędu. Zbudowano mikroprocesorowy układ cyfrowy do prototypowania i testowania wybranych algorytmów sterowania. W strukturze złożonej z nieliniowej belki pionowej poddanej wymuszeniu parametrycznemu i kontrolera PPF, wykazano możliwość wystąpienia trzech obszarów rezonansowych, niezależnie od wartości i znaku nieliniowości geometrycznej. Podjęto eksperymentalne próby redukcji drgań struktury „L" w otoczeniu rezonansu „out of plane". Lepsze wyniki uzyskano stosując algorytmy sterowania Pi PID.
This paper presents a procedure of a derivation of a set of partial differentia! equations (PD Es) of motion for an autoparametric "L" shaped beam structure. Bending in two perpendicular directions and torsion of both beams have been tak.en into account. The PD Es have been reduced to ordinary differentia! equations (ODEs) considering the fourth, out-ofplane mode. Based on derived ODEs, a numerical model of the system has been created in MatLab-Simulink: software and then natural vibrations, for various initial conditions, have been investigated. Furthermore, using Finite Element method (FE) and ABAQUS software, the natural frequencies and mode shapes of the "L" shaped beam structure have been extracted. The number of layers and the reinforced fibres orientation has been tak.en into account in the FE model. The numerical simulation results have shown rapid changes on the phase portraits, what is the effect of a nonlinear coupling between particular equations of motion of the system. The results of numerical simulations have been verified by an experiment. During laboratory tests time series from accelerometers, located on the structure characteristic points, have been recorded. Moreover, an experimental modal analysis has been performed. The dynamics of the structures made of conventional materials (aluminium) or glass-epoxy composite materiał has been compared. The essential influence of the beams' materiał for the system's vibrations and couplings between bending and torsion modes have been shown for the composite beams. It affects the dynamics of a whole structure and the trajectory of the top mass in particular. For the aluminium structure this phenomenon has been hardly observed. To evaluate effectiveness of the selected control algorithms, analytical, numerical and experimental tests have been performed. At first, the control has been applied separately for the horizontal beam under vertical excitation near the fundamental resonance, and for the vertical beam under the principal parametric excitation. Analytical solutions have been obtained by the Multiple Time Scales Method taking into account the first order approximation. The Digital Signal Processing (DSP) system has been created for prototyping and testing the proposed control algorithms. The Macro Fibre Composites as actuators have been used in experimental tests. In order to reduce vibration a few control algorithms have been tak.en into account. The nonlinear saturation controller (NSC), Positive Position Feedback (PPF) and the controller based on cubic velocity feedback have been applied. Additionally, the results for the proportional (P) and cubic displacement feedback are presented. The influence of selected parameters and the geometrical and inertia beam nonlinearities on the system's dynamics without control and with the selected controller has been checked. It has been found that for the horizontal beam with vertical excitation the PPF algorithm allows a proper reduction of beam's vibrations for a much wider excitation frequency range than for the saturation control. In case of the NSC control, the appearance of saturation phenomena has been determined analytically and the independence of excitation and the plant response has been shown (the saturation phenomenon). This result has been confirmed numerically and experimentally. For the vertical beam with vertical excitation (the parametric system), the high effectiveness of the cubic velocity feedback algorithm has been demonstrated. This controller ensured a high level of the vibration reduction and stability of the system for wide range of amplitude and frequency of excitation. The results has shown a significant influence of geometrical and inertia nonlinearities for this controller. For a nonlinear beam with parametric excitation and the PPF algorithm three resonance areas have been found, independently of the sign and value of the geometrical nonlinearity. The experimental attempts to vibrations reduction of the "L" shaped autoparametric beam structure, near to the fourth ( out of plane) vibration mode, have beam made. The effectiveness of the PPF and NSC algorithms for such a complex, autoparametric system, near this resonance, has been tested. In this case, P and PID algorithms have given betterresults.
