Analiza termiczna przeprowadzona została trzema metodami: metodą laboratoryjną, metodą symulacji numerycznych i metodą doświadczalną w warunkach rzeczywistych. W analizie geometrycznej wykorzystano metody inżynierii odwrotnej: skaningu i modelowania 3D, które dostarczyły informacji do prowadzenia pomiarów warstwy wierzchniej i budowy cyfrowych modeli przegród.
The thesis concerns the course of heat transfer processes in building partitions at the interface of two rough layers. The surfaces of the materials are not perfectly smooth, consequently, their contact occurs only in the area of the actual contact. After verification and validation of the models in laboratory conditions, numerical simulations were carried out in consistence to the rules of heat transfer. The thermal analyzes were preceded by a geometric analysis of the material surfaces at two levels of observation: at a macro and micro scales. As a result, the information provided regarding the contact area of the materials allowed for the estimation of the influence of the surface microstructure on the insulation parameters of the building envelope in real working conditions. The dissertation examines a problem, poorly referred to in publications, which contains the determination of the heat transfer coefficient, particularly in calculations of contact resistance values at the interface of layers which surfaces were differently prepared. In the considered partitions, air gaps can be caused by small changes in the dimensions of the thermal insulation or dimensional deviations of the structure irregularities. Places where the thermal insulation layer is in contact with concrete were analyzed. To determine the value of contact resistance at the interface of material layers in the building partition, thermal analyses were carried out in the thermal system and a geometric analysis was carried out in the geometric system, affecting the heat flow. Thermal analyses were carried out using three methods: laboratory method, numerical simulation method and real-world experimental method. The geometric analysis used reverse engineering methods: scanning and 3D modelling, which provided information to guide measurements of the surface layer and to build digital models of the partitions. After verification and validation of the computational model, numerical studies were carried out to take into account the change in roughness of the surface layer on a micro and macro scale, which has a significant impact on the contact method and the course of heat transfer phenomena. The study analysed two layered partition systems: • one - reflecting the actual conditions existing in vertical walls erected from precast concrete elements, with the gap between the concrete and the thermal insulation filled with adhesive mortar, • the other one - set horizontally, where the expanded concrete and thermal insulation are in direct contact. The first one examined how the value of the thermal resistance of air gaps changes: • Under the influence of the change in surface microstructure after the application of admixtures for concrete, • after filling it with adhesive mortar • following the microstructure of the concrete surface changes, due to the reflection -smoothing coating. In each variant, the effect of changing the distance between the concrete and thermal insulation in the ranges: 10, 15, 20 mm were studied. In systems built of expanded concrete, the effect of microstructure changing of the surface by grinding, on contact thermal resistance was analysed. The study showed that the contact resistance at the interface of material layers is significantly affected by the change in the concrete surface. After the application of the reflective-smoothing coating, the emissivity, were reduced from ε=0,93 to ε=0,29, resulting in some increase of thermal resistance in the air gap about 88,5%. Concrete admixtures resulted in some increase of thermal resistance in the air gap about 1,9%. Changing the thickness of the air gap from 10 mm to 15 mm increases the thermal resistance about 12%, and about 19% after applying the coating. Increasing the thickness of the gap by another 5 mm has no significant effect on the increase in resistance and oscillates within 2%. But some more significant changes in the geometric structure of the surface of expanded clay concrete after grinding were observed. In the systems where expanded concrete is in direct contact with the thermal insulation, the irregularities affect the contact resistance increase. After grinding the surface, the thermal resistance of the air gap was reduced about 70%. This phenomenon is associated with an increase in the actual contact area between the bodies, in which heat transport is carried out by conduction. The surface microstructure modification solutions applied in the study change the contact thermal resistance between concrete and thermal insulation, and can be used as an innovative method to improve the thermal performance of buildings.
