Data on material removal process and temperature during precision milling of magnesium alloys using carbide end mill

Abstract

The dataset contains data obtained during research into precision milling of AZ31B and AZ91D magnesium alloys using carbide cutting tool. The material_removal and burrs images were extracted from a recordings captured using a high-speed camera. The cutting_temperature databases contain maximum temperatures measured using a thermal imaging camera. Dataset contain the source data presented in the scientific publication mentioned in the Related work. The data were obtained within the framework of the project “Study on the chip formation process and the temperature reached in the cutting zone during precision milling of magnesium alloys” (grant no. 2023/49/N/ST8/01411) financed by National Science Center, Poland.
