The doctoral dissertation researched the impact of selected machining strate-gies, the technological history of the semi-finished product and the removal of the textured surface layer formed after rolling on deformations of thin-walled elements, made of EN AW-2024 T351 aluminum alloy, after milling. Strategies, such as High Performance Cutting, High Speed Cutting and conventional ma-chining (CM) as well as their combinations were used. The rolling direction was analyzed as the technological history of the semi-finished product. It was as-sumed that this could be relevant in the context of the cutting tool feed direction. The research was carried out in three versions with leaving a textured surface layer formed after plastic working and with its removal with parameters corre-sponding to High Speed Cutting and conventional machining (CM). The doctoral dissertation was focused on the impact of the presented varia-bles on the value and type of post-machining deformations. Engaging such is-sues resulted from significant problems that the industry, especially aviation, is facing. As a part of the dissertation, own research was carried out, including the determination of the material characteristics of EN AW-2024 T351 aluminum alloy, study of post-machining deformations of thin-walled elements by strain gauge and differential methods, study of surface roughness after various machin-ing strategies and study of the metallographic structure of the surface layer be-fore and after the milling process. On the basis of the analysis of the results, it was found that after milling in a perpendicular direction to the rolling direction, larger deformations were obtained than after milling in a parallel direction. In addition, it was found it was possible to minimize post-machining deformations of thin-walled elements due to the use of a properly selected machining strategy and its combination with pre-treatment (or lack of thereof). The dissertation was finished with conclusions of scientific and application significance, which con-tain technological guidelines allowing to reduce deformation of thin-walled ele-ments appearing after the full cutting process.
