Abstract (PL)

Abstract (EN)

The paper researched the impact of selected machining strategies, the technological history of the semi-finished product and the removal of the textured surface layer formed after rolling on deformations of thin-walled elements, made of EN AW-2024 T351 aluminium alloy, after milling. Strategies, such as High Performance Cutting, High Speed Cutting and conventional machining (CM) as well as their combinations were used. The rolling direction was analysed as the technological history of the semi-finished product. It was assumed that this could be relevant in the context of the cutting tool feed direction. The research was carried out in three versions with leaving a textured surface layer formed after plastic working and with its removal with parameters corresponding to High Speed Cutting and conventional machining (CM). The paper was focused on the impact of the presented variables on the value and type of post-machining deformations. Engaging such issues resulted from significant problems that the industry, especially aviation, is facing. As a part of the paper, own research was carried out, including the determination of the material characteristics of EN AW-2024 T351 aluminium alloy, study of post-machining deformations of thin-walled elements by strain gauge and differential methods, measurement of surface roughness parameters after various machining strategies and study of the metallographic structure of the surface layer before and after the milling process. On the basis of the analysis of the results, it was found that after milling in a perpendicular direction to the rolling direction, larger deformations were obtained than after milling in a parallel direction. In addition, it was found it was possible to minimise post-machining deformations of thin-walled elements due to the use of a properly selected machining strategy and its combination with premachining (or lack of thereof). The paper was finished with conclusions of scientific and application significance, which contain technological guidelines allowing to reduce deformation of thin-walled elements appearing after the full cutting process.
