Abstract (PL)

Podejście to zakłada przełożenie uniwersalnych wglądów filozoficznych na konkretne działania transformacyjne, prowadzące do przezwyciężania błędnych przekonań, redefinicji sensu życia i odzyskania równowagi emocjonalnej.

Abstract (EN)

The author addresses the issue of existential crises that affect both individuals and entire societies. She assumes that their primary cause is global threats – economic, political, humanitarian, or climatic. The monograph presents an existential approach to crisis, understood as a radical disruption of life’s meaning, a moment of destabilisation, and a borderline experience. This approach refers to the “philosophy of life” and “existential philosophy” – the main points of reference for the considerations undertaken. According to the researcher's perspective, crisis is not only a source of suffering and confusion, but it can also become an impulse for personal transformation – a necessary condition for reformulating the meaning of life. The aim of the work is also to analyse the philosophical and psychological-psychotherapeutic dimensions of crisis. The author considers fundamental existential tensions, such as despair, fear of death, the pain of failure, and suffering resulting from climate change (solastalgia, eco-anxiety, climate depression). Crisis appears here as an opportunity to transform one's relationship with oneself, with others, and with the world. The following chapters present suggestions for dealing with crises – not as ready-made recipes, but as indications of directions that can broaden horizons and deepen self-understanding. In this monograph, philosophical theory is intertwined with practical philosophy, now referred to as philosophical counselling. This approach involves translating universal philosophical insights into specific transformative actions that lead to overcoming misconceptions, redefining the meaning of life, and regaining emotional balance. The inclusion of perspectives from recognised schools of psychology and psychotherapy – humanistic, existential, and cognitive-behavioural is intended to enable the development of an authentic dialogue between philosophy and psychology. The combination of philosophy, psychology, and art that unfolds in the work is an attempt to address fundamental questions about the possibility of a fulfilling life in the face of crisis, taking into account the complexity of the human experience.
