Abstract (PL)

Monografia podejmuje problematykę związaną z zastosowaniem technologii implantacji jonów w celu poprawy właściwości mechanicznych wybranego stopu kobaltu stosowanego w budowie newralgicznych elementów maszyn. W pracy przedstawiony został aktualny stan wiedzy dotyczący zagadnienia implantacji jonów, inżynierii warstwy wierzchniej oraz badań stellitów. Wskazano znaczenie odporności i właściwości warstwy wierzchniej w eksploatacji maszyn. W oparciu o przeprowadzone studia literaturowe, na obiekt badań wybrany został stop kobaltu stellit 6. Z materiału wykonane zostały próbki do badań, z których część poddana została implantacji jonów azotu natomiast pozostałe implantowano jonami manganu. Zasięg implantowanych jonów określano metodą symulacji numerycznych z wykorzystaniem kodu SRIM. Zaimplantowane próbki poddane zostały następnie badaniom mającym wskazać zmiany zachodzące w właściwościach mechanicznych i wytrzymałościowych warstwy wierzchniej stopu.

Abstract (EN)

The monograph deals with the application of ion implantation technology to improve the mechanical properties of selected cobalt alloys used in the construction of critical machine elements. The paper presents the current state of knowledge concerning the issue of ion implantation, surface layer engineering, and stellite research. The importance of the resistance and properties of the surface layer in the operation of machines was indicated. Based on literature studies, cobalt stellite 6 was selected as the test object. Test specimens were fabricated from this material, some of which were subjected to nitrogen ion implantation while others were implanted with manganese ions. The range of the implanted ions was determined by numerical simulations using the SRIM code. The implanted samples were then subjected to tests to indicate changes in the mechanical and strength properties of the surface layer of the alloy. Tests such as GXRD, EDS, friction, and wear tests with the ball-on-disk method, resistance to cavitation erosion, micro-and nanohardness tests were carried out. The obtained results allowed us to realize the cognitive objective of this work and on their basis, it was concluded that the implantation of nitrogen ions can significantly improve mechanical properties such as hardness, tribological wear resistance, and cavitation erosion resistance of stellite 6 alloy, which is widely used in the engineering industry.
